Major Changes for US Poker Players
The US Department of Justice, Souther District of New York has issued indictments for officials of three online poker sites: Poker Stars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker, the three
largest poker sites accepting US players. (Link to PDF of Indictment
This indictment was unsealed on Friday, April 15, and US players have since been unable to withdraw any funds from any of these sites.
Poker domain names were also seized, but an agreement between the DOJ and two of the poker sites - Poker Stars and Full Filt - have been signed, allowing these two sites to make refunds to US players. The Poker Players' Alliance has
been an advocate for regulating online poker, ans has over 1 million members, has initiated action to bombard the DOJ, Congress and the US Administration on this issue. Link to Poker Players Alliance Press Release
Absolute Poker has not yet signed off on the agreement.
Fortune Lounge and Belle Rock Casinos - Existing Players
Fortune Lounge Casino (7 Sultans, Royal Vegas, Vegas Palms, Platinum Play, Poker Time) and Belle Rock Casinos (Gaming Club, River Belle), Lucky Nugget, King Neptunes, Jackpot City) have made the decision to bar existing US players from all their casinos.
This step was taken after the US Department of Justice issued indictments agains three online poker rooms, charging them with Money Laundering.
Other Microgaming casinos that were still accepting deposits from US players have not barred US pleyrs, but have limited options on how these players
may make deposits and withdrawals. US players at FL and BR will have to make individual arrangementw with those casinos, if they have balances owing to them.
Some Rival casinos have stopped accepting US players, as well. Rival "White Label" casinos, are no longer allowing US players. However, Rivals owned independently are still
accepting US Players. Some of those Rival Casinos still accepting US players are listed in this newsletter.
